Stefan Kontopoulos was building a successful corporate career in Contract Management and Strategic Sourcing when he purchased his first investment property nearly a decade ago. It wasn’t long before he became so passionate about real estate that he started spending his nights and weekends building a real estate portfolio of small multifamily properties eventually comprising a total of 16 rental units. He spent all his spare time searching for, buying, renovating, renting, and every managing every aspect of those properties himself, gaining firsthand experience with the opportunities and challenges that come with real estate ownership. After more than a dozen
transactions as a buyer and seller of his own personal residences and investment properties, Stefan eventually decided it was time to stop treating real estate as his side business and commit to his passion full time.
Today, as an Agent Partner and REALTOR® with Zarghami Group, Stefan brings together two backgrounds that serve his clients especially well. His 20 years of professional experience reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, evaluating risk, and protecting business interests taught him to pay attention to the details that can
change the outcome of a deal. His experience as an investor taught him how to evaluate properties, understand the numbers, spot potential concerns, and look beyond the transaction itself. Stefan believes his role is to educate, not persuade. He gives clients the information they need to understand their options and risks, then respects that the final decision is theirs. He also believes the best problems are the ones that never happen, so he works to identify potential issues early and address them before they can affect a transaction.
After residing in Upstate New York for a decade, Stefan now calls Florida home with his wife and two children, giving him firsthand appreciation for what it means to relocate a family and build a life in a new community. His approach to real estate is grounded in integrity, preparation, and straightforward communication, values that fit naturally with Zarghami Group’s commitment to being Sarasota’s most trusted real estate team. And when he isn’t working on or thinking about real estate, there’s a good chance you’ll find him on a pickleball court, a hobby that may have crossed the line into an addiction.
